Creating the Artwork – The Art of Painting Birds.

Creating each painting involves research in books, visits to museum collections, observation and sketching of birds in the wild, and field data collection - all with the aim of producing an illustration that accurately portrays the species and its environment. The work is artistic, as the species are arranged harmoniously on the plate, yet also scientific, given the study conducted on each species regarding its colors, morphology, behavior, diet, and habitat.

Field Sketching

Field sketching is an essential part of Eduardo’s work as a Brazilian bird artist and natural history illustrator. Observing birds directly in their natural habitats allows the artist to develop a deeper understanding of their anatomy, behavior, movement, and relationship with the environment. This close connection with nature is a constant and fundamental learning process, continually refining Eduardo’s techniques and strengthening the accuracy and authenticity of his bird illustrations and paintings.
